New Lakeside debut Saturday

It’s going to be a slow weekend with the Labor Day holiday, however Golden Casino Group picked a prime opportunity to debut the new Lakeside Casino & RV Park from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

There will be a celebration featuring live music, games for both adults and kids, a barbecue and a beer garden.

Those registering for the G Club can get free slot play, free buffet coupons and participate in the raffle.

The kids will have a bounce house, photo booth, face painting and games from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A DJ will spin the tunes from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Lil Elmo and the Cosmos will play from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

For every food and beverage purchase, participants with a G Club card get a raffle ticket for the 10 p.m. drawing.

The restaurant features new menu items and the beer garden will have 10 draft beers for $1 each.

• Also on tap is the monthly Reggae & Blues Fest in the parking lot from 6 p.m. to midnight at Off 160 Coffee House.

It’s a family affair and Stan Rankin is providing the music.

Rankin also owns Caribbean Lifestyles and will have Jamaican jerk chicken, clothing and jewelry from the islands.

• The Pahrump Community Pool will close Sept. 2 at 8 p.m., but before it does, the Pahrump Valley Cruisers have sponsored a free swim day beginning at noon.

• This is also the weekend for the “Fun After 55 Good Vibrations” celebration from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the South Point Arena in Las Vegas.

HealthCare Partners and Humana have partnered to offer those 55 and older free Beach Boys tickets.

The concert will be at 6 p.m. at the arena. Gates open at 5 p.m.

If you don’t have your free tickets, visit the HealthCare Partners offices on Calvada Boulevard at the Urgent Care, West Calvada Boulevard and the offices fronting on Postal Road.
