Crihfield told the deputy the item belonged to him and that he had let the driver borrow it. He further said he did not want Wolf to get in trouble for having his brass knuckles.

It was also noted in the arrest report that Wolf appeared to be intoxicated when he was stopped by police. He agreed to submit to a series of field sobriety tests, all of which he allegedly failed.

COPS: Pills without prescription lead to drug arrest

Police took one woman into custody after she was allegedly discovered to have several illegally obtained prescription pills on her person last week.

Just before 1 p.m. on Aug. 1, a deputy was asked to respond as backup to a sergeant on a traffic stop with a vehicle with possible expired registration at the intersection of Basin Avenue and Murphy Street.

When the deputy arrived the passenger, identified as Sheri Lewis, said the truck belonged to her and she was letting her friend drive her home in it because she didn’t have a valid license.

When asked if she had any illegal drugs or weapons on her person, Lewis allegedly told police she did not. When asked if she would mind officers searching her person and vehicle then she reportedly replied “yes, I don’t got nothing.”

During the search, however, police allegedly found four white pills and one brown and white capsule in her pants pocket. When asked if Lewis had a prescription for the pills, Lewis allegedly replied she did not and that she used them because “they help my teeth.”

The pills were identified through the website identadrug.com as controlled substances obtainable only with a prescription.

Police also reportedly found a clear straw with a brown tar-like substance in her change purse as well, which they noted is commonly used to smoke heroin.

Lewis allegedly said the last time she used the straw was three weeks prior at the time of her last arrest. She reportedly told the officers she was clean now and had simply forgotten to take the item out of her wallet.

She was then arrested for two counts of possession of a dangerous drug without prescription and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

COPS: Home invasion hoax leads to ‘victim’s’ arrest

After falsely reporting an attempted home invasion at his residence, one man was taken into custody over the weekend.

Last Friday around 8 p.m., a deputy was asked to respond to a residence in the 1200 block of Comstock Circle for a report of a home invasion.

When he arrived, the officer was unable to locate the suspect, but did meet with the reporting party, Joseph Fenton, who said a male had attempted to force entry into the home and that the door to the residence was bowing so badly it was coming out of the frame.

Fenton said his sister was present at the time of the incident and that he was unsure who the male was or why he would want to break into the home.

The deputy then made contact with the suspect who said he was in fact at the residence earlier to collect $20 from Fenton that he was owed, but stated he did not try to force entry into the home.

An interview with Fenton’s sister corroborated the alleged suspect’s story after she also told police the man did not force entry into the home and was only there to collect the $20 he was owed.

The deputy then went back to speak with Fenton, who said he did not know why the other man was at his home. When confronted about the $20 Fenton owed, he allegedly said he does owe the money to someone.

The arrest report notes the second time he spoke with police he said he only thought the other man was trying to break in based on what he heard.

A check of the door Fenton first said was bowing allegedly showed the door was still solid in its frame, which is not usual after an attempted home invasion.

Fenton was arrested for making a false report of a crime and transported to the Nye County Detention Center to be booked into custody.
