Woman jailed after search warrant served, drugs found

Tia Dircio was arrested on May 22 after she failed to appear for court on preliminary charges of possession of stolen property (firearm), possession of schedule one, two, three or four controlled substance, three counts, possession of dangerous drug without a prescription, two counts and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office served a sealed telephonic search warrant at the suspected residence of Tia Dircio on May 8 located on West Charleston Avenue after she was identified as living in a bedroom at the residence.

When deputies searched the bedroom they reportedly found a shotgun, numerous hypodermic devices, digital scales and several unidentified pills.

According to the arrest report, deputies recognized them as tools commonly used in the drug trade.

The shotgun was later confirmed as stolen out of the Nye County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies identified the drugs as Xanax, hydromorphone, clindamycin and ciprofloxacin. All the drugs were listed as controlled substances and only available by obtaining a doctor’s prescription.

Dircio was not located at the time of the search warrant.

Dircio was later arrested and booked into the Nye County Detention Center and held on $25,640 bond.

Man jailed after firing weapon

Esvin Poscasangre-Arredondo was jailed on May 23 and faces preliminary charges of discharge weapon where person might be endangered, possession of firearm while under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest after deputies were dispatched to a report of shots fired at a residence on Flamingo Road.

When deputies made contact with the suspect, identified as Arredondo, he was outside of his property. Deputies reportedly ordered him to open his front gate and he complied. Deputies asked Arredondo where his shotgun was and he reportedly indicated it was inside the residence.

As deputies were walking towards the front door they noticed seven spent shotgun shells on the ground as well as three unspent shotgun shell casings. Deputies also noted that there were multiple cans of Bud Light on the ground and a pint of Black Velvet Whiskey on the hood of Arredondo’s vehicle.

Deputies noted in the arrest report that Arredondo’s eyes were bloodshot, watery and his gait appeared to be unsteady. As deputies spoke to Arredondo, they reportedly noted that his speech was slurred.

When questioned about the spent shotgun shells on the ground, Arredondo reportedly stated that he fired his shotgun just prior to deputies’ arrival.

When deputies attempted to place Arredondo in wrist restraints, he reportedly began to physically resist and was subsequently escorted to the ground.

Arredondo was transported to the jail and booked on the above listed charges and held on $3,780 bond.
