Gov. Brian Sandoval issued a proclamation Wednesday, declaring September as Voter Registration Month in Nevada.
Tied in with this announcement, Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske and her staff will focus their efforts throughout September to make eligible Nevada voters aware of registration deadlines and requirements for the Nov. 8, general election and promote the state resources that are available to help with the registration process.
Residents with a valid driver’s license or identification card from the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles can register to vote online at www.RegisterToVoteNV.gov.
Active registered voters can also update their existing registration information online. Those who prefer to mail in a voter registration application can fill one out online, print and sign the application, and return it to their local election official.
The deadline to mail in completed voter registration applications for the 2016 general election is Oct. 8.
While the deadline to register to vote online or in person is Oct. 18th, voters can verify their registration status by logging into the Secretary of State’s My Voter File application, which can be accessed there.
