First job: “I worked in retail in Buena Park, California when I was 17 years old.”

Years in Business: “I have been doing this for 13 years and in Pahrump for 5 years.”

Background: “I started doing hair in Hollywood, where I had a shop. This is the third Cut’s n Do’s, I had two shops in Hollywood, California and this one in Pahrump is the third. In California I did hair for the group the Go Go’s, Ricky Nelson, Dwight Yoakam and the Bangles, to name a few. I was quite busy in the 80s.”

Personal: “I like riding motorcycles with my husband. I like the long rides on our Harley.”

Business Climate: “I think we hold our own. We are competitive despite all the salons because we have great stylists here that keep the clients coming back for more. I have Dore, who does braiding and extensions, she is creative and one of the best in town. “

US 95 head-on crash kills one in Nye County

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash along US 95 at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday morning, May 13, according to Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis.
