BACKGROUND: “I am originally from Oregon but have had most of my work experience in Hawaii, where I was a medical assistant and in marketing and advertising.”

FIRST JOB: “I worked as a pharmacy technician in Oregon.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I lived in Pahrump for a year and a half and worked for Dr. Michael Reiner before taking this position.

“Comfort Hospice Care is a member of the chamber and supports the rodeo. We also provide items for the goodie bags given at Relay for Life and have an information booth at all the public events.

“We use a lot of volunteers and always need more. Hospice is about quality of life. I’m so blessed every day I work with Angels in the making and those that care for them.”

“Personally, I’m passionate about either participating or donating to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, anything to do with cystic fibrosis and I feel strongly about organ donation.”

PERSONAL: “My work is my life and when I do have down time, I like to spend it with my Yorkshire terriers. I don’t often get the opportunity, but when I do, I like to go deep-sea fishing for Ahi tuna with my son in Hawaii. I love sushi and Hawaiian poke. I enjoy spending time with my daughter and playing with my granddaughters.”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “We need more medical assistance for the rural areas. We give good service and referrals of family and friends of those we’ve served is our best advertising. I believe in shopping locally when I can, and I think building relationships with other businesses is important for everyone.”

US 95 head-on crash kills one in Nye County

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash along US 95 at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday morning, May 13, according to Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis.
