BACKGROUND: “I have a degree in recreation management and worked in the resort marina industry for 22 years, mostly at Lake Mead, in all aspects of hospitality management. My husband and I moved back here and I took the job with Integrity.”

FIRST JOB: “I worked as a part-time bartender while I was going to college in Gunnison, Colo.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I have lived in Pahrump for the past three years. I support the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Veterans Affairs on a national level. We haven’t become involved in the local organizations as of yet.”

PERSONAL: “I love spending time outdoors. I’m a hunter and love to fly fish. We enjoy gardening and growing our own vegetables and fruits. We spend time trap and skeet shooting and enjoy spending time with friends.”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “This is a community with a lot of opportunities for businesses to open. I believe in shopping locally and supporting the community’s other small businesses as much as possible.

“It’s easy to network here and build a loyal customer base, but it needs to be easier for businesses to open and not so much red tape. Give businesses an incentive to want to come here.”

US 95 head-on crash kills one in Nye County

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash along US 95 at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday morning, May 13, according to Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis.
