BACKGROUND: “I am from the Philippines where my family owns and operates a cab company. I have a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and worked for a Philippines version of Proctor & Gamble and Colgate Palmolive as an analyst.”

FIRST JOB: “I worked in my family’s business in the Philippines.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS:

“I moved to Pahrump in 2003 with my husband Louis DeCanio and joined the Pahrump Nugget in 2007. I have worked hard to learn all the requirements and aspects of my job and was promoted to Player’s Club supervisor.”

The Pahrump Nugget is certainly here for the community with donations of space and money to different charities. “Louis and I have our own way of donating to those in need and have donated often with monetary donations and other help to local people.”

PERSONAL: “I enjoy long walks, working out, working on my computer and occasionally smacking a few golf balls around.”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “To succeed in any business, we need to treat each one with respect and be sure they are satisfied and happy. I always try to make every guest through those doors feel welcome, so they will come back and tell their friends about the Pahrump Nugget.

“We need to bring new business to Pahrump that pay a livable wage to help the community prosper.

US 95 head-on crash kills one in Nye County

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash along US 95 at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday morning, May 13, according to Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis.
