Infinity Hospice executive earns national recognition

A local hospice executive was elected to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization's board of directors last month.

Darren Bertram, chief executive officer of Infinity Hospice Care, was voted to the board of NHPCO, whose mission is to lead and mobilize social change improving care at the end of life.

NHPCO is the largest hospice organization in the nation and trains hospice leaders, lobbying for hospice legislation and offers guidance for any major end-of-life issue.

Infinity Hospice Care explained that the election is not just a big event for Bertram, but for the company itself.

"Bertram's election is not just a win for our company, rather, it validates what we know to be true - that Infinity Hospice Care is on the forefront of decisions and policy affecting everyone who cares for individuals with serious illness," Infinity Care said in a statement.

Bertram has served on Infinity Hospice's board since its founding in 2005. Infinity Hospice Care serves several areas in Nevada including Nye, Clark and Washoe counties, among others.
