Man arrested on preliminary charges related to sexual relationship with minor

A Pahrump man was arrested and charged with several preliminary counts relating to allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a minor.

Charles Flennory, 18, was taken into custody by the Nye County Sheriff’s Office Monday and charged with preliminary counts of luring a child with use of computer for sex act, possession of child pornography and lewdness with a minor under 14 years of age.

The incident stemmed from an initial call to the sheriff’s office about juveniles damaging the air conditioning unit at a property located on the 600 block of S. East Street.

When deputies arrived at the scene they made contact with a 13-year-old female and Flennory. The initial investigation revealed that the juvenile female was not allowed near Flennory due to allegations of a dating relationship being present.

Flennory’s criminal history showed he had a pending molestation charge against him involving the same 13-year-old female.

Police said they found text messages on Flennory’s cell phone that revealed the victim had been meeting Flennory for the past few weeks. Later both parties admitted that they had carried on an inappropriate relationship.

Flennory was arrested and transported to the Nye County Detention Center for booking.

A warrant was granted for both individuals’ cellphones, where the sheriff’s office allegedly discovered inappropriate photos of the 13-year-old on Flennory’s phone dating back to January and February.
