Nevada Caucus arrives

Supporters of U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz's bid for the White House waved at vehicles on the corner of Highways 160/372 on Wednesday, trying to increase support ahead of the Republican Caucus on Tuesday. Cruz, who is seeking the Republican Party nomination for president, will be at Draft Picks Sports Bar on Sunday. The event starts at 2 p.m.

The registration for the GOP Caucus starts at 5:30 p.m. with the call to order at 6 p.m. The presidential poll runs from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Party caucus locations in southern Nye County are Rosemary Clarke Middle School in Pahrump, the Amargosa Valley Community Center, and Beatty Community Center.

The Democratic Caucus is Saturday, with registration starting at 11 a.m., with the call to order at 11:30 a.m.

The Democratic Caucus locations in the region are Rosemary Clarke Middle School, Manse Elementary School, Hafen Elementary School, Floyd Elementary School and J.G. Johnson Elementary School in Pahrump; Amargosa Valley Community Center, and Beatty Community Center.

US 95 head-on crash kills one in Nye County

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash along US 95 at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday morning, May 13, according to Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis.
