The public information below was provided by the Nye County District Attorney’s office.

• Corey Lee DeMille was charged on July 7 with burglary and grand larceny of a motor vehicle, both felonies.

• William John Newyear was charged on July 25 with child abuse and neglect, a felony.

• Glynn Dale Durnen Jr., was charged on July 27 with child abuse and neglect, a felony.

• Anthony James Cozad was charged on July 28 with burglary; possessing or receiving forged instruments or bills; and forgery, all felonies.

• Kathryn Colleen Howard aka Katie Schmidt was charged on July 28 with burglary; possessing or receiving forged instruments or bills; and forgery, all felonies.

Cynthia Marie Hendricks was charged on July 28 with possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

• Joseph Tomas Nelson was charged on Aug. 2 with unlawful use of a controlled substance and failure to appear after bail, both felonies; and obstructing a public officer, three counts; and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

• Matrix Lee Walker was charged on Aug. 2 with child abuse and neglect, a felony.

• Whitney Lewis was charged on Aug. 2 with child abuse and neglect, a felony.

• Francisco Alejandro Salazar was charged on July 28 with aiming a firearm at a human being; discharging a firearm where person might be endangered, a gross misdemeanor; possession of a firearm when under the influence of alcohol, controlled substance or other intoxicating substance; and disturbing the peace, both misdemeanors.

• Andrew J. Calvert IV was charged on July 28 with escape, a gross misdemeanor; obstructing a public officer; and resisting public officer, two counts, both misdemeanors.

• Tonya L. Joneson was charged on July 28 with escape, a gross misdemeanor; battery upon an officer and resisting public officer, two counts, both misdemeanors.

• Melocka Lynn Williams was charged on July 31 with abuse of an older person, a gross misdemeanor and domestic battery, a misdemeanor.

• Rickey Maoluma Elekana was charged on Aug. 1 with unlawful taking of a vehicle, a gross misdemeanor.

• Devin Arthur Traster was charged on July 2 with injury to other property, a misdemeanor.

• Mark Richard Askew was charged on July 7 with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

• Frank Paul Briggs was charged on July 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol and obstructing a public officer, both misdemeanors.

• Kastora Irean Brewer was charged on July 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license, both misdemeanors.

• Ralph Eric Stephens was charged on July 27 with petit larceny and unlawful trespass upon land, both misdemeanors.

• Kenneth James Wilhite Jr., was charged on July 27 with injury to other property, assault and disturbing the peace, all misdemeanors.

• Lawrence John Welsh was charged on July 27 with battery and assault, both misdemeanors.

• Bennie J. Munoz III was charged on July 27 with battery, two counts, a misdemeanor.

• Tina Marie Brown was charged on July 28 with harassment, a misdemeanor.

Pahrump man injured in gunfire with deputy

Nye County Sheriff Joe McGill told the Pahrump Valley Times the incident occurred at a residence along Bunarch Road at approximately 7:30 a.m. on May 14.

Motorcycle rider flown to UMC Trauma

Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis told the Pahrump Valley Times that crews were dispatched to a report of a serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Sandpebble Street and Kellogg Road on the south end of the valley at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

US 95 head-on crash kills one in Nye County

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash along US 95 at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday morning, May 13, according to Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis.
