• Anthony Denton Oliver was charged on July 11 with possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

• Edwin Padilla was charged on July 11 with child abuse and neglect, a felony.

• Tami Jo O’Brien was charged on July 11 with unlawful use of a controlled substance, a felony.

• Gordon Frapp was charged on July 12 with offense involving stolen vehicle, a felony.

• Raymundo Garcia was charged on July 12 with transportation of a controlled substance, first offense; possession of a controlled substance, both felonies; possession of a dangerous weapon, a gross misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of a hypodermic device, a misdemeanor.

• Justin B. Fischer was charged on July 12 with possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

• Jaydee Allen Hemphill was charged on July 12 with felon in possession of firearm, a felony.

• Marlo Kanoho was charged on July 12 with battery with use of a deadly weapon against older person; battery with use of a deadly weapon; assault with a deadly weapon against older person; and coercion, all felonies; and abuse of an older person, two counts, a gross misdemeanor.

• Eva Maria Garcia was charged on July 12 with child endangerment, a felony; failure to maintain traffic lane; vehicle entering intersection marked ‘stop’ or ‘yield’; duty of driver to decrease speed under certain circumstances; instruction, restricted instruction and temporary driver’s permits; and driving without a valid license, all misdemeanors.

• Randall Lloyd Brown was charged on July 13 with possession of a controlled substance, two counts, a felony.

• Cole D. Engelson was charged on July 17 with first-degree murder, a felony.

• Duane Andrew Johnson was charged on July 17 with sale of methamphetamine, a schedule I controlled substance, a felony.

• Angel DeJesus Maldonado was charged on July 18 with possession of a controlled substance, a felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

• Uedale Wilson was charged on July 18 with assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.

• Sara Lindsay Warrington was charged on July 18 with unlawful use of a controlled substance, a felony; and driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance; and vehicle entering or exiting controlled-access highway: duty to yield right of way, both misdemeanors.

• Danielle Renee Gummere was charged on July 12 with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Pinkbox opening in Pahrump Nugget

An illuminated oversized doughnut already overlooks Highway 160, in a central area of Pahrump where passersby will see it on their way to Death Valley. Many local leaders in the valley are excited about the grand opening of popular chain Pinkbox Doughnuts beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday inside the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino.

Pahrump man injured in gunfire with deputy

Nye County Sheriff Joe McGill told the Pahrump Valley Times the incident occurred at a residence along Bunarch Road at approximately 7:30 a.m. on May 14.

Motorcycle rider flown to UMC Trauma

Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis told the Pahrump Valley Times that crews were dispatched to a report of a serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Sandpebble Street and Kellogg Road on the south end of the valley at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

US 95 head-on crash kills one in Nye County

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash along US 95 at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday morning, May 13, according to Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services Chief Scott Lewis.
