Pleasant weather expected in region through Monday

Pleasant weather that the area has seen much of the week will continue through the weekend.

The National Weather Service said that a strong weather system is responsible for the higher than normal temperatures.

"There is a high-pressure ridge across the whole western U.S., that will kind of flatten slightly over the weekend," said Reid Wolcott, National Weather Service meteorologist.

The high temperature will reach 74 degrees today and Saturday, 73 degrees Sunday and 74 degrees on Monday and Tuesday.

Sunny skies will be prevalent throughout the weekend, with winds picking up a bit as the weekend comes to an end, when the high-pressure ridge weakens slightly.

"The skies will be mostly clear, but we might have a few high clouds at times, nothing to write home about," he said. "There will be some breeziness come late Saturday afternoon and Sunday, but it will calm down Monday and Tuesday."
