Republican women host annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday

The Pahrump Valley Republican Women will host its annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday to help support party candidates running in the area.

The fundraiser will take place at the Pahrump Nugget Casino located at 681 South Highway 160 at 7 p.m. No-host cocktails will be available at 6 p.m.

A number of state and federal officials are expected to attend the event, including Lt. Governor Mark Hutchison, U.S. Sen. Dean Heller, U.S. Rep. Cresent Hardy, State Controller Ron Knecht and State Treasurer Dan Schwartz. Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly and District Attorney Angela Bello are among several local officials who are expected to be at the fundraiser.

Republican Women's President Renae Goedhart will serve as master of ceremonies with candidates planning to seek office also speaking.

Election filing begins March 7 and runs through March 18. Three Nye County Commission seats are part of this election cycle and Hardy is seeking re-election to his congressional seat.

Tickets are $60 per person and $480 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased at the door at the Pahrump Nugget. The menu includes filet mignon and chicken marsala, asparagus, scalloped potatoes, salad and Boston cream pie.

There will also be a raffle and live auction.
