Summer fireworks shows get official OK

Zambelli Fireworks was given a permit for the Pahrump Fourth of July fireworks display at Petrack Park without a fuss Tuesday.

County commissioners also approved permits for fireworks shows requested by Margie Lough at the Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino July 5 and a permit for Lantis Fireworks and Lasers to put on a show at Front Sight Firearms Institute July 4.

A couple of Pahrump fireworks stores received annual renewals of their permits. They included Tim McKoy, for D &T Imports, dba Area 51 Fireworks at 1381 E. Highway 372 and Raechelle Laughlin, for Vegas of Pahrump Inc., dba Phantom Fireworks, at 921 S. Highway 160.

In other matters, county commissioners approved a wholesale liquor license for Combination Seven LLC, which plans to open up Tonopah Brewing Company at the Mizpah Hotel. Owners Frederic and Nancy Cline already have a retail and package liquor license. Since Nye County doesn’t have a brew pub license, the Clines filed an application for a wholesale and retail license. The State of Nevada already approved the brewery.

Sorensen Enterprises LLC, dba Nicco’s Pizza, at 2201 E. Postal Dr., was granted a beer and wine license.
