Suspect sought in attempted kidnapping

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a woman who was walking with two juveniles.

The suspect, described as a black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall with a muscular build and dark complexion pulled up to the group in a lifted, black four-door truck at the northwest corner of Calvada and Pahrump Valley Boulevard on Friday.

The man exited the vehicle and attempted to force the adult female into his truck, but the victim was able to fight off the suspect and escape to a relative’s home nearby.

The suspect fled the scene, heading northbound on Pahrump Valley Boulevard.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a four-door, lifted, black truck, possibly a Dodge Ram.

The man was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, blue jean shorts, red shoes and white socks.

Once the suspect is apprehended he will be charged with preliminary counts of kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery.
