Weekend starts with seasonally average weather, ends with rain shot

The long holiday weekend will get off to a pleasant start, but inclement weather is possible for the end of the Thanksgiving break.

The National Weather Service said that Friday and Saturday will see temperatures near normal for this time of year. The average high for the last week of November will be around 63 degrees.

“(Today) It’s going to be mostly sunny with a high near 64 degrees,” said Barry Pierce, National Weather Service meteorologist. “It looks to be dry at that point.”

The seasonally-average weather will continue into Saturday, where a high of 62 degrees is expected, before dipping down to 37 degrees overnight.

That all changes Sunday as a low-pressure system makes its way into the area from the Pacific.

“Sunday there will be a 20-percent chance of some rain showers,” Pierce said. “Right now we’re only talking a 20-percent chance, but that could increase as we get a little bit closer to that.”

The chance of rain will stick around for Monday, as there will be a 20-percent chance of precipitation. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy with a high temperature of 54 degrees.

Tuesday through Thursday temperatures will be six to nine degrees below normal, which will be in part to the cold front that brought in the rain chances over the weekend.
