Relay lead stepping down
I would like to personally thank all the people that made my last year as event lead a great success.
After the last three years as the Pahrump Relay for Life event lead, I want everyone to know I am stepping down as the lead, while I step up in the lead in a few other places. I am currently serving as the Junior Regent of the Pahrump Women of the Moose and October 1, 2015 I will be stepping in as the Pahrump Kiwanis President, so my plate will be full.
I am not leaving Relay for Life and I will remain on the committee as the online chair. Kayla Gieni will be taking over the event lead position, and I am super excited to see all the things she has planned. Kayla was an awesome co-lead last year and I hope everyone welcomes her to the position with open arms.
Thank you for all your help Kayla.
I have to thank all the people that worked very hard all year on the committee and there are some that just went above and beyond. First off, this group of people did an unbelievable job to make our survivor area amazing, Kathy Butkovich, Helen Greenleaf and Ellen Arntz and the entire survivor caregiver committee.
I want to thank Kerri Paine who sat in the registration booth the entire event and processed over 300 on-site registration forms plus signed in almost 300 pre-registered participants; Marian Maxfield who, with her effort made us an ACSCAN event for the second year in a row; Alicia Lewis and her committee, who kept the music playing and activities going through the entire event. And to our amazing staff partner, Shannon Moore, who went above and beyond her job description to make this event great.
Even though I did not mention everyone by name I want you to know I appreciate everyone that helped put this event together no matter how big or small the role you played.
To all the survivors, caregivers and participants who took time out of their day to take part in the event, over 600 people attended the event this year.
To all the teams that fundraised over the last year, from vendor events to car washes to Mr. and Mrs. Relay, asking your friends and family for donations and helping us reach over $40,000 this year. You can still continue to fundraise through Aug. 31 to count towards this relay year. Don’t forget that if you purchase a vehicle from Pahrump Valley Auto Plaza between now and Aug 31 and mention Relay for Life they will donate $100 to Relay. For more information ask to speak to Doug Dubin.
And to our sponsors, THANK YOU!!!
