The Trojans wrestling team had their first home match against Sierra Vista last Thursday night. The Trojans mattmen didn’t disappoint the full stands and beat the Mountain Lions 54-27 in their first conference match of the season. The team then went to the Spring Valley Duals in Las Vegas and finished third at one of the toughest wrestling tournaments in the valley.
It’s that time of year again when the pounds just magically appear around the middriff section of the body because of all the good things around the kitchen to pop into your mouth. At this time of year people are madly looking for a stop-gap measure to keep the pounds from accumulating.

Defending state champion Clark rolled into town like a big storm. Local fans just had to wait to see how much damage would be done. That was the way Trojans Coach John Toomer saw it. He just didn’t know what the damage was going to be. Clark (4-1 overall, 1-0 Sunset League) won big, 73-29.
Ed Bonine will be leaving the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association after eight years as director. According to the NIAA, Bonine has been offered a position with the Louisiana High School Athletic Association. The NIAA will start the process of filling the position on January 14 and 15, which is the regular winter meeting.
The Trojans varsity wrestling team started the season in great style at the Boulder City High School Duals on Saturday.
Don Brymer never raced at the Pahrump Valley Speedway. In fact he hasn’t been in a racecar since 2004. He is retired racer who lives quietly in Pahrump who will turn 80 next month and just wanted to share his many racing memories.
