The rodeo has to be one of the top draws in the area. The rodeo will be at the Fall Festival at the McCulloch Arena. This year will be the third year in a row that the Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Association has come to Pahrump. In addition to the usual rodeo events, the halftime show will see the return of the EhCapa Bareback Riders from Idaho, who will thrill the crowd with maneuvers and jumps that few experienced riders can do.
The rodeo is always great family entertainment with adult tickets going for $10 and the rodeo starting at 7:30 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.
The Pahrump Valley Speedway will be holding two days of speedway action on Friday and Saturday night, starting at 7 p.m. Every single class, according to track promoter Jerry Buesig, is tight and up for grabs. In addition to the intense racing action, off-road racer Robby Woods will show off his talents in 5-lap grudge match against a Modified racer.
If you haven’t experienced small town football at its best, come watch the Pahrump Valley Trojans on Friday night at 7 p.m., as they take on the Clark Chargers from Las Vegas. Pahrump seeks to even their conference record at 2-2, while Clark seeks their first conference win. Adult tickets are $5.
On Sept. 27 there will be a non-sanctioned doubles horseshoe tournament at Petrack Park. Everyone is welcome to come join in on the fun. The tournament will be a blind draw, which means that players will be matched according to their abilities. Also, it will be double elimination so that you must lose twice. The entrance fee is $15. Sign in will be at 9 a.m. at the Petrack Park horseshoe pits, which are between the pool and the fire station. There will be prize money for first, second and third place.
