Summer sports fun for kids

It’s that time of year when parents are looking for something to do for the kids. There will be two upcoming sports camps for kids at the high school: one for basketball and the other is a girls soccer camp.

Basketball runs June 22-25 from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The camp is organized by Coach Gil Llewellyn and staff.

According to his website, Llewellyn believes as coaches, players and people in general, that we are all works in progress.

“We do our best works when we approach operating at the highest version of ourselves, and that there is no greater joy than truly helping others to do just that,” he said on his website.

The camp is for boys and girls from ages 6-18 of all ability levels. For the entire camp the cost is $255 but parents can pay 1 day at $50, 2 days at $90, 3 days at $125 and 4 days at $160. A half day costs $25. People interested in the camp can register at www.gametimebasketballcamps.com.

The second camp is run by Pam Larmouth and members of her soccer team. This camp is from Aug. 3 - 7 and will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the PVHS soccer field. The camp will be from girls entering into sixth grade through ninth grade. For more information call Pam Larmouth at 702-686-8058. The cost is $60 for the camp.
