Pahrump Valley Speedway

The speedway will be having a big Dwarf Division race called "King of the Oval" with the purse being $1,000. Speedway owner Chad Broadhead expects at least 30 Dwarf racers for the 35-lap main event this weekend in addition to the other classes. Racing starts at 3 p.m. Go to pahrumpvalleyspeedway.com for ticket info and directions.

The VFW softball game is back and the Lady Trojans are ready to play. The girls will play in an exhibition game against VFW post 10054 on Sunday at noon on the PVHS softball field.

The game is for charity and purely for fun. Proceeds from the event will go to the VFW and a small amount will also be donated to the PVHS softball team as a thank you. The girls are out for revenge this year as they lost 13-11 last year.
