It’s clutch time for the Lady Hornets

For the Lady Hornets basketball team, the season is winding down and it’s crunch time for them. The Lady Hornets (5-3 overall, 3-3 Division IV Southern) needed to beat Lund (3-6, 3-3) last week and didn’t. They lost 32-27.

This places them in a four-way tie with Lund, Tonopah and Beaver Dam. All four teams will be fighting for the six playoff spots. Pahranagat Valley (10-9, 6-0) , Round Mountain (10-9, 6-0) and Sandy Valley ( 6-3, 4-2)occupy the top three spots.

Beatty played Adelson (2-8, 0-6) Thursday (past deadline) at home and needs to beat them and Tonopah (4-14, 3-3) at home on the following week. It also would help if they beat Pahranagat Valley on Saturday, which is an away game.

The Beatty boys basketball team is 1-2 in their last three games. The team (6-4 overall, 5-2 Division IV Southern) will have played the top three teams in the conference by Saturday.

They played Coral Academy (13-7) last Thursday and lost 66-28 at home in non-league action. They then played Lund (0-8,0-7) and beat them 70-25.

On Tuesday they were at Spring Mountain (17-4, 7-0) who is at the top of the conference and lost 64-26.

On Thursday they played Adelson School (11-5, 6-1) who is the second place team (past deadline).

Tomorrow the Hornets are at Pahranagat Valley (11-5, 5-1) who are the third place team.
