The Trojans wrestling team defeated Lowry High School for the Nevada Division I-A Wrestling State Championship up in Winnemucca today. The team upset the defending state champions, the Buckaroos, who had won six straight state titles in a row and had won the title 16 times.

Pahrump finished the tournament with 124 team points to Lowry’s 110 points. Jax (195 pounds) and Jace (285 pounds) Clayton each won individual state titles. This is the first team state title since 2008 for the team. For full details and results, see Wednesday’s issue.
