IN PROFILE: Wendy Hirschi

BUSINESS: Desert View Physical Therapy

AGE: 40

BACKGROUND: “I grew up in Southern California with a background in dancing. I joined the Air Force instead. I ended up doing the ground support jobs such as food service, recreation and fitness center. After getting married, I became a stay-at-home mom of four kids then ended up going back to work for an occupational therapist as an aide. My long-lost love of fitness is what interested me more, so I went back to school and got my degree as a physical therapist assistant and have been working here in Pahrump. ”

FIRST JOB: “I worked Thrifty’s drugstore scooping ice cream.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS: “Five years.”

PERSONAL: “I try to fit in as much fun with my family as I can. Our family LOVES baseball so we are usually down at the park with the kids. I love spending time with my family.”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “Physical therapy, to me, is a common sense approach to try and fix a problem before having invasive surgery. But if you do need to have a surgical procedure done to correct it, we are here to help you recover from that and regain function. It is about having a great quality of life.”
