Two arrested for convenience store with machete

A pair of juveniles were arrested this week after allegedly robbing a convenience store with a machete.

Two Pahrump juveniles were arrested by the Nye County Sheriff’s Office early Wednesday morning and charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

The arrest report states that the two juveniles entered the Horizon Market, 961 S. Linda St., armed with a machete and one of the suspects threatened the clerk, forcing him to the ground.

The juveniles then took merchandise and money from the cash register before fleeing the scene on foot, police said. The clerk was not injured during the incident.

During the NCSO’s investigation into the incident, deputies were able to identify and locate the two suspects at a separate location.

Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Nye County Juvenile Probation Department on the five preliminary charges.

The names of the suspects are being withheld due to their ages being under 18.
