Clark County School District suspends all sporting activities

The Clark County School District, in respect for the grieving families from the tragic Sunday shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, suspended all games on Monday.

CCSD’s Director of Student Athletics and Activities Pam Sloan, released that information Monday morning.

“Due to the tragedy that has occurred in our city, in working with the superintendent’s office, we feel it is in the best interest of our community to cancel all athletic and activity events today.

“The NIAA has been contacted. They are in the process of rescheduling today’s Tennis Regional matches. Conference games scheduled for today will need to be rescheduled prior to the end of the regular season.”

All sporting events, according to Sloan’s office, resumed their normal schedule on Tuesday.

The cancellation affected the Trojans junior and varsity volleyball teams, who were scheduled to play Cheyenne High School, and according to the NIAA the Sunset League, will be responsible for the scheduling of that game.
