Football: Rosemary Clarke wins first two games

The Trojans football team is not the only football team having success in town. The Sharks at the middle school also have been racking up the points, beating Faith Lutheran 68-20 on Saturday afternoon.

The win was their second win of the season, clobbering White Pine on the road 48-0 last week.

Andrew Avena had a TD catch and two TD runs to lead the team in touchdowns against Faith Lutheran.

“Most of the second half we ran between the tackles trying not to run up the score,” Sharks head coach Dave Wright said. “This team probably has the most talent of any of the teams I have coached. If they continue their hard work, we should have a good rest of the season.”

In the game, the Sharks defense also played a role in the win.

“The defense had blocked a punt by Cameron Gabrylczyk, forced a fumble by Antonio Margiotta, who also recovered one,” the coach said.

The Sharks host the Meadows at 10 a.m. at Pahrump Valley High this Saturday.
