Sportsman’s Quest: The Story Teller

The time of hunting and fishing conventions has come to an end and the hunting guides-outfitters have returned home to prepare for another season. I’m left with my head full of new stories and my sides still aching from laughing at the crazy tales and humorous, if sometimes dangerous, adventures we’ve shared at vendor booths, in the hallways, hotel rooms and yes, while sipping a beverage in the local “watering holes.”

Hollywood comes to the Pahrump Valley Speedway

It was movie day at the Pahrump Valley Speedway as a movie production company called Romeo Sampson Pictures was there on Saturday filming a movie called “Poor Boy.”

Bowling News: The PVTBC will hold a 3-6-9 singles tournament, with handicap, on May 30 at the Pahrump Nugget. This tournament will be sponsored by Win Realty in honor of WR Sporting. Practice starts at 12:50. Tournament is open to active PVTBC members only (dues for 2015 needed prior).

High school honors top athletes of the year

Pahrump Valley High honored four senior athletes Wednesday for their excellence. Seniors Jace Clayton and Alyssa Murphy were selected as Outstanding Athlete of the Year, and seniors John Clark and Shayla Dance were chosen as the Scholar Athletes of the Year. The difference being that the Scholar Athlete has a grade component to it. Each student receives $500.
