List: Pahrump area entertainment guide

WEEKEND EVENTS

• Christmas concert at library

The Pahrump String Quartet will hold a free concert, at noon, Friday, (today) at the Pahrump Community Library.

The community is invited to enjoy the beautiful Christmas music performance.

• Carmelo’s Christmas Party

Commissioner Leo Blundo invites the community to celebrate the Christmas spirit with hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, at Carmelo’s Bistro, 1440 E. Highway 372. The dress is casual attire.

• Open Mic

Sunday Open Jam, hosted by Mike Hickey, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., THE HUBB Bar and Saloon, 3720 West Bell Vista.

• Tommy Deering and Special Guest – live music from 5:30-8:30 p.m., the Pourhouse Sports Bar, 1101 S. Highway 160.

Sportsman’s Quest: The Story Teller

The time of hunting and fishing conventions has come to an end and the hunting guides-outfitters have returned home to prepare for another season. I’m left with my head full of new stories and my sides still aching from laughing at the crazy tales and humorous, if sometimes dangerous, adventures we’ve shared at vendor booths, in the hallways, hotel rooms and yes, while sipping a beverage in the local “watering holes.”
