BUSINESS: Owner Pro Line Painting

AGE: 49

BACKGROUND: “I have been a painter all my life. My dad and grandfather were painters and my dad used to have me on his jobs since I was about 12 years old. I was caulking, putting in baseboards and doing prep work. Once I got out of high school, I went to work full-time and somehow 30 years have slid under my belt. Time really flies.”

FIRST JOB: “I went to work for a painting contractor while my dad was a union painter. All of his bosses knew me and saw that I was a pretty good painter so getting a job wasn’t really an issue. I started painting at $10 an hour which was pretty good way back then.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I got my license in ’04 and haven’t looked back. I just want to thank all of my customers for their continued support and keeping us in business. Without our customers we would not be where we are today.”

PERSONAL: “I really love what I do for a living. I enjoy turning old beat up and worn down houses into something newer and making customers happy. In order to make it, you have to know what you are doing and keep good business relationships with your customers.”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “When the economy died a few years back, it was tough to find business because painters sprung up everywhere. We have managed to stay alive and things seemed to have picked up because I get a lot of return customers and I am very thankful for that.”
