Fur FX opens on Loop Road

If a cut and fluff isn’t enough for Fido, another option with flair is available at the new Fur FX at 1161 S. Loop Road.

Located next to Hair FX, a beauty salon for people, Fur FX can provide a doggie dye job and a manicure complete with nail polish for Fluffy. The shop opened in early September.

Owner Sherry Dalton received her groomer certification in California and said she has been grooming animals for five years.

“The dyes and nail polishes are not toxic. They are certified by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The grooming salon accepts large and small dogs and Dalton said the concept is to take appointments for the pooch while the owner is having their hair done next door.

“We provide the regular services of bathing and cleaning ears. We express anal glands and clip nails. I also have experience with fancy fur trimming.”

She offers a $5 discount for all seniors and $5 off to new customers. Normal services run from $25 for small dogs and $40 for large dogs.

She doesn’t have kennel space to hold dogs for long periods of time. “I operate by appointment only.”

Call 775-727-3715 or 702-501-7744 to set an appointment.
