Gold Town Discount Liquor debuts Pahrump’s largest liquor store

The interior of Pahrump’s Gold Town Casino has a fresh new look as of this month, as Gold Town Discount Liquor is now open for business.

Catherine Tillett, Golden Casino Group’s director of marketing, said the business opened its doors on Thursday.

“We don’t have a fully-functional discount liquor store here in Pahrump so we wanted to bring some additional amenities to the community for our locals to enjoy,” Tillett said. “It has been very well received among our guests and it’s been going over really well. The look is amazing and it’s very airy and open.”

Tillett noted management was forced to make a few interior changes in order for the casino to accommodate the 1,600-square-foot space, relocating the old Players Club space.

Jeremy Jenson, general manager of the Golden Casino Group’s three Pahrump properties, said the liquor store is an amenity guests have requested.

“We are committed to creating an experience for our guests while purchasing their liquor, wine or beer,” Jenson said. “We will have an extensive variety at discounted prices, including monthly specials and an aggressive rewards program. There are thousands of different types of wine and beer and we want to educate our guests through various samples and tastings.”

Tillett also made certain to remind guests that sales at the new liquor store are for takeout purchases only.

“With our bar, they can only serve opened liquor, beer and wine products,” she advised. “They can’t get a bottle to take home from the bar, so that’s where the liquor store convenience comes into play. We have a very wide selection and the liquors and beverages are literally stacked to the ceiling.”

Tillett noted that the casino plans to provide a special event each month, as part of the new addition.

“We will have tastings every second Saturday each month,” she said. “We will actually be highlighting what we like to call our featured Drink of the Month, where it will be a select drink throughout the entire month which will be at a discounted cost for that entire month. If there is a liquor or drink that you never heard of, you can come down, taste it, and utilize the discount.”

The casino hired eight employees to staff the operation, which is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Besides Gold Town Casino, the Golden Casino Group operates the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino, and the Lakeside Casino & RV Park.
