A Pahrump man was formally charged with two gross misdemeanors by the Nye County District Attorney’s office for a sexual offense incident which occurred last week at a popular store.
Matthew Michael Ensley, 29, was arrested Sept. 6 and has since been charged with open/gross lewdness and indecent exposure for an incident involving young females inside the Walmart Supercenter on Highway 160.
Loss prevention employees told Nye County Sheriff’s deputies that a Hispanic male was walking around the Walmart with his genitalia exposed, touching himself, while following around young females, the arrest report stated.
Deputies reviewed the surveillance footage and confirmed the employees’ claims.
When deputies made contact with Ensley, they noticed his penis was erect. When questioned about his actions, Ensley confirmed that he was, in fact, walking around the store inappropriately touching himself, police said.
Ensley was taken into custody on the pair of charges and booked into the Nye County Sheriff’s Office without further incident.
He remains in custody and is being held on $20,000 cash or bond. He is scheduled for arraignment in Pahrump Justice Court on Thursday.
