With summer break already in full swing it’s not too early to begin thinking about next school year.
Area schools will host registration events next month, to ensure area families are ready before the bell rings to usher in the 2016-17 school year on Aug. 8. These registration periods are for new students only.
Pahrump Valley High School
New student registration for Pahrump Valley High School begins on July 21. Appointments are necessary to register a new student.
Registrar Jennifer Shockley will be out of town until July 21, so she encourages parents to call her and leave a message or email her and she will get appointments set up that way.
Parents and guardians must bring proof of guardianship, a certified birth certificate, up-to-date immunization records, two proofs of residency, transcripts or report card from previous school and the parent must have photo identification.

Rosemary Clarke Middle School
Rosemary Clarke Middle School will begin enrolling area sixth, seventh and eighth graders who are new the Nye County School District and can register for classes between July 20 and the first day of school, Aug. 8.
Registration takes place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. during the enrollment period.
The registration is only for students who were not enrolled in a NCSD school in 2015-16.
Parents and guardians must bring proof of guardianship, a certified birth certificate, up-to-date immunization records, two proofs of residency, transcripts or report card from previous school and the parent must have photo identification.

Hafen Elementary School
Hafen Elementary School’s registration period for new students begins July 20.
Monday through Friday up until the first day of school, Aug. 8, parents and guardians can enroll their students into Hafen Elementary.
Parents and guardians must bring proof of guardianship, a certified birth certificate, up-to-date immunization records, two proofs of residency (utility bill, mortgage, or rent receipt), transcripts or report card from previous school and the parent must have photo identification and any custody papers if applicable.
There is an open house on Thursday, Aug. 4 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Hafen Elementary.

J.G. Johnson Elementary School
J.G. Johnson Elementary School kicks off their new student registration on Wednesday, July 20.
Enrollment will take place each day during the time frame of 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, through the first day of class, Monday, Aug. 8.
Parents and guardians must bring proof of guardianship, a certified birth certificate, up-to-date immunization records, two proofs of residency (utility bill, mortgage, or rent receipt), transcripts or report card from previous school and the parent must have photo identification.
Assessments for kindergarten students will be held July 25 and July 26 by appointment only. Appointments usually last around 30 minutes.
