Trio of changes in store for Spring Mountain Chiropractic

Change is in the air for one local chiropractor as a new location, doctor and new technology are on tap in the coming weeks.

Spring Mountain Chiropractic Clinic is moving from its location on Calvada Boulevard and to its new location at 2201 South Postal Road.

“Basically we’re just moving to a better location. Our other office, Affiliated Chiropractic, is by the post office and since we’re upgrading the X-ray machine, both offices will complement each other,” said Bart Malstrom, supervisor at Spring Mountain Chiropractic. “It also gives us more room in the parking lot.”

With the upgrading of the X-ray machine, it will make a patient’s visit more convenient as opposed to the old, outdated system.

“We were totally old school with the developer and everything, but the best advantage of it, from what I understand, it is difficult to get into regular medical doctors and actually get seen,” Malstrom said. “This will be an easier way to get X-rays done, especially with sports injuries.”

A lot of the sports injuries the clinic sees are high school athletes who are hurt while participating in school athletics. For the better part of a decade, Spring Mountain Chiropractic has worked with students and their families to ensure that they are seen, insurance or not.

“If high school kids get hurt or need to be seen, even if they do not have insurance, we see them for free,” Malstrom said. “We like to offer that to the community.”

With the digital format, patients can now leave the clinic the same day as their visit with a disc containing their X-ray slides, something that wasn’t possible for them in the past.

“Digital is really nice, as we can send people out of the clinic with an actual disc in hand, just like the hospitals do,” Malstrom said.

In addition to the new location and upgrading technology, Spring Mountain Chiropractic welcomed aboard Dr. Jeffrey Hanks several months back, but with all the changes going on they thought now was as good a time as any to officially welcome him to town.

“We’re introducing Dr. Hanks, who’s actually been around for about six months now, but he’s never really been introduced to the community,” Malstrom said.

Dr. Hanks has been practicing for about 20 years and is originally from Las Vegas, but has worked all over the western United States.

Spring Mountain Chiropractic Clinic is open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., and are closed for lunch from noon until 2 p.m.
