The Trojans 14U Connie Mack baseball team made the playoffs as the eighth seed.
The team played in a double elimination tournament at Centennial High School in Las Vegas and lost the first game to Centennial 13-1 on Monday and then lost their second game to Liberty, 8-7.
The team was coached by Jeff Koenig and Tom Grossel. Program Director and Head Coach Brian Hayes said the team had trouble throwing strikes.
“Five of their runs scored off walks,” Hayes said. “We look at the season as a success, making the playoffs in the first year of our program and we look forward to seeing this group continue to improve and impress in the future.”
The team consisted of 9th grader Ian MacRae, 8th graders Willie Lucas, Zachary Trieb, Joey Koenig, Tyler Floyd, Nico Velazquez, Dylan Grossel, Brayden McHugh-Williams, Trevor Brown, and 7th graders Grant Odegard and Rayder Maestas.
