Beatty Hornets demolish Lund in preseason game

The Beatty Hornets men’s basketball team completely destroyed Lund at home last Friday 87-11. The win came easily for the Hornets, so much so Hornets Coach Joe Serrano said, “I knew we had the game in the bag after the first two minutes of the game,” he said. “We had a 14 point lead to 0 in the first minutes of the game.”

Local horse clinic goes old school

If your horse is acting up, perhaps the best thing for it is to send it to the military for boot camp. In all seriousness, that is usually what happens to young human beings. When they are acting out, we give them more structure by either sending them to boarding school or military school.

Event supporters questions length of Death Valley safety review

Death Valley National Park refuses any further comments on their move to place a moratorium on all sporting events for the majority of 2014. The National Park Service believes it necessary to conduct a safety review of all sporting events held within the park.

2013: A sports year in review (part 2)

The fall season had five Pahrump teams getting ready for the playoffs and a few unknowns. The Tonopah team was thinking repeat and so were the Lady Trojans soccer team. There were a few new coaches in the mix. As always fierce competition was the case in every sport with just a few surprises thrown in to make it an exciting season.
