Trojans volleyball keeps winning; remain in first place

The Lady Trojans volleyball team remains in first place in the Sunset League after two league wins and one non-conference win.

Trojans (14-10 overall, 6-0 Sunset League) traveled to Sunrise Mountain (1-17, 1-5) on Monday for an easy win. Last night, the Trojans on the road beat the Miners in three sets, 25-8, 25-14 and 25-6.

Alexis Trieb had 11 kills, Bethany Calvert had nine kills and Jackie Stobbe had nine assists.

On Friday, the Trojans traveled to Tech (10-17, 1-4 Sunrise League) and beat them in three sets, 25-14, 25-11 and 25-15. Trieb had nine kills, Koral Hearn had 13 assists and Marietta Sobeck had eight kills.

Pahrump hosted Western (2-7, 2-4) and beat them in three, 25-8, 25-4 and 25-6.

Jill Smith had 14 assists and Jackie Stobbe had 10. Bethany Calvert had seven kills, Marietta Sobeck had five.

The Lady Trojans will host Mojave (9-15, 5-1) in their next league game on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m.

The Beatty Hornets (14-2 overall, 4-0 Class 1A Southern) hosted Word of Life (4-7, 2-2) and beat them in three sets, 25-13, 25-15 and 25-23 for a conference win. The Lady Hornets play Round Mountain on Friday for homecoming (3-10, 0-3) at 5 p.m.

Tonopah (10-12, 3-1) lost to Pahranagat Valley (13-5, 3-0) in 3 sets, 25-10, 25-11 and 25-13. The Lady Muckers play Word of Life at 4 p.m. on Friday.
