The Nevada Silver Tappers took to the stage last Saturday night for a fabulous performance with a very special purpose at its heart, raising money to support the local Veterans Food Bank, and when all was said and done, thousands of dollars had been collected to help give back to those who have served.
The Food Assistance Program will launch on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, and will be available to veterans living in Pahrump who are homebound, regardless of it they are a Nathan Adelson Hospice patient.
The Community Thanksgiving Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NyE Communities Coalition, 1020 E. Wilson Road
The 9th Annual Pahrump Balloon Festival is all set to float into town this weekend and with it will come three days of fun and amusement that are sure to please the whole family.
Nye County Public Works Director Tom Bolling and his road crews have been quite busy over the last year, with a variety of repair, maintenance and improvement projects addressing an array of streets throughout the county. To keep the public and county officials apprised of what is happening, Bolling provided the Nye County Commission with an update on current and future projects during its Tuesday, Nov. 1 meeting.
The program will support the financing of single-family units, townhomes, condos and manufactured homes converted to real property, as well as two- and four-unit properties so long as the applicant will use one of the units as their primary residence.
USO Show will take the audience on a trip around the world, beginning on the East coast of America and wending through Italy, Germany, France and Latin America before finishing on the West coast.
Halloween was a fang-tastic affair in the Pahrump Valley, with thousands of youngsters arraying themselves in ghoulish, ghostly and glittery attire to hit the town for trick and trunk or treating.
This year’s Pahrump Balloon Festival will feature a special sunrise service for veterans.
The art auction was the inaugural fundraiser for nonprofit Living Free Health and Fitness.
About 145 costumes have been collected so far, ranging in size and theme so that there should be something for just about every kid to enjoy.
With solar development on the upswing, many companies are eyeing lands throughout Nye County but not everyone is happy with the idea of large-scale solar fields being built in their backyards.
