Argument lands woman in jail

Jennifer McCormick was jailed on June 19 and faces preliminary charges of domestic battery and attempt to damage/destroy state property after deputies with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic at a residence on East Navajo Boulevard.

Deputies subsequently made contact with the victim who reportedly said that she had gotten into a verbal altercation with her daughter, identified as McCormick and that McCormick grabbed the victim by the arm and scratched her with her nails.

Deputies later confirmed that the victim had red marks on her arms and wrist areas as well as scratch marks on her chest area.

When deputies spoke with McCormick she reportedly admitted to having a verbal argument with the victim but denied touching her.

McCormick was subsequently arrested and transported to the Nye County Detention Center and booked on the above charges and held on $3,000 bond.

Deputies noted in the arrest report that while transporting McCormick, she was banging her head against the right rear passenger window and glass that separates the front and back of the patrol vehicle.

McCormick also reportedly kicked the window of the patrol vehicle before she was being transported.

Woman charged with domestic battery

Jennifer Parker was jailed on June 20 and faces a preliminary charge of domestic battery after deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence on North Sean Street.

When deputies made contact with a female, subsequently identified as Parker, she reportedly said she was attempting to get her minor child when the victims refused to return the minor child to Parker. Deputies learned that the minor child is Parker’s child.

The victims explained that when they refused to allow Parker to retrieve the child, she allegedly began banging on the front door. When the female victim attempted to open the front door, Parker allegedly tried to push her way into the residence but the male victim got between the two women.

The male victim reportedly said that when he moved in front of the female victim and Parker, he allegedly was scratched in the face by Parker.

Deputies observed that the male victim did have scratch marks and a cut on his left side which resembled a scratch mark. The female victim, deputies noted, had a scrape on her left wrist from the door being forced open.

Parker was arrested and transported to the jail, booked on the above charges and held on $3,000 bond.

Woman jailed for domestic violence

Michelle Louise Hildreth was arrested on June 20 and faces a preliminary charge of domestic battery after deputies were called to an address on South Mount Charleston East for a domestic dispute.

When deputies made contact with Hildreth and the male victim, they reportedly learned that both were involved in a domestic dispute that started inside the bathroom of the home they shared.

The male victim reportedly told deputies that Hildreth came into the bathroom where the male victim was and started yelling profanities at him and scratched his arms. Deputies reportedly observed scratch marks on the victim’s arms.

The victim said in an attempt to get away from Hildreth, he left the bathroom and went into the living room but she followed him, still yelling at him. When the victim allegedly told Hildreth that he did not care, Hildreth became more upset and started throwing items at the victim. The victim reportedly told deputies he attempted to get away from her several times but Hildreth continued to block him.

At one point, Hildreth allegedly grabbed his arms and scratched him. When the victim attempted to contact family members to get away from Hildreth, she allegedly continued yelling at him and began screaming in his face. The victim said when he attempted to put her belongings on the front patio, Hildreth attempted to push the victim and then yelled for her minor children to go to the neighbor’s house and call the police.

Hildreth reportedly told deputies that the couple had been arguing throughout the day but she never touched him. Hildreth said it only became physical when the victim grabbed her arms and choked her.

Deputies noted in the arrest report that Hildreth continually changed her story when they were interviewing her.

Hildreth was arrested and transported to the jail, booked on the above charges and held on $3,000 bond.
