County to consider medical marijuana

Medical marijuana zoning regulations and licensing will be on the agenda when the Nye County Commission meets at 10 a.m. Tuesday at commissioners’ chambers, 2100 Walt Williams Dr. on the Calvada Eye.

In other business, commissioners will consider a memorandum of understanding with the Nye County Employees Association.

The designation of county roadways for shared use by off-highway vehicles in Pahrump is on the agenda.

A lease agreement with Tails End Inc. of Pahrump, which was awarded a contract to run the Pahrump Animal Shelter, is on the agenda.

County commissioners and the sheriff, sitting as the Nye County Licensing and Liquor Board, will consider a gaming license for Bricos LLC, dba Draft Picks, formerly Wulfy’s Restaurant at 1101 S. Highway 160.

Commissioners will consider remodeling the law library and district attorney’s office in Tonopah. A remodeling of the Beatty Community Center kitchen is also on the agenda.

The board will consider applying for a Hoover Dam power allocation from the Western Area Power Administration and the Colorado River Commission.

A memorandum of understanding with the Artesia Owners Association to keep rights-of-way free of weeds, trash and debris will be considered.

Commissioners will consider a non-federal reimbursable agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration to perform a reconfiguration flight of the Precision Approach Path Indicator at the Tonopah Airport.

The transfer of Nye County Treasurer Trust property to Nye County and the Town of Tonopah is on the agenda.

A reciprocal aid agreement with Newmont USA Limited is on the agenda.

A contract with WestCare NV Inc. for substance abuse treatment of drug court participants is up for approval.

Commissioners will consider a resolution supporting the Nevada Sesquicentennial.
