New Pahrump business offers home furnishings, decorations

A brand new Pahrump business is now up and running in the heart of town.

The business, Pahrump Second-Hand Deals, is located at 1481 Highway 372, Suite A.

Owner Monica Lopez, who also owns a similar business in Las Vegas, opened the Pahrump location late last month.

Her vast inventory consists mainly of home furnishings.

“We offer good quality furniture and decorations at great prices,” she said. “We have living room sets, dining room tables, couches, sofas, and bedroom sets, so we have everything for the household. We change out our inventory every couple of days, so you’ll see something different each week on the sales floor. We have contemporary and rustic items and decorations. The items that we don’t sell here we send to our Las Vegas location. We also do deliveries.”

Regarding exactly where Lopez acquires her inventory, she said the majority comes from the World Market Center in downtown Las Vegas, which is described as a 5-million-square-foot showcase for the home and hospitality contract furnishings industry.

“They have a show twice a year in Las Vegas, and we got all of the samples,” Lopez said. “The furniture we get are from model homes and rentals, and they are all in excellent condition. We know it’s not brand new because as soon as you remove the items from the box they become used. We don’t buy items from the general public nor do we accept donated items because we want to sell items where we know exactly where they come from.”

Additionally, Lopez said that if a Pahrump customer does not find what they want, she will gladly show them photographs of items from her Las Vegas store at Sahara Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard, for the past seven years.

“We will also wheel and deal and negotiate on the prices of our items here,” she said. “We’ve got a big inventory, so I’m pretty sure there is something for everyone here at this location. We opened on Sunday, May 26th, and business has been good so far.”

Pahrump Second-Hand Deals is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The phone number is 775-419-2016.
