School marks Unity Day with a walk around campus

Rosemary Clarke Middle School celebrated Unity Day on Nov. 10, as an extension of National Bullying Prevention Month. Everyone was encouraged to wear orange in support of bullying prevention. All staff and students participated in a walk on campus from 1:05-1:50 p.m. For the past week, the school has been selling orange T-shirts, printed with the message, "The end of bullying begins with me."

Nye County Superintendent Dale Norton walked with the students.

"I participated in the walk with the 8th grade students at RCMS," he said. "My take is that if everyone was being respectful with other people then bullying really doesn't occur. It's when people are being disrespectful bullying is going to take the stage."
