Valley Communications: broadband maintenance scheduled

Valley Communications Association plans to conduct a scheduled systemwide software upgrade Friday to its broadband network, resulting in a scheduled interruption.

Members can anticipate the brief interruption, lasting approximately 30 to 60 minutes between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., the association said.

These upgrades are in preparation for advanced digital services, said Nate Johnson, executive vice president of broadband and IT communications for Valley.

Customers who experience connectivity issues after 6 a.m. are asked to power cycle their routers and wait two minutes before testing, the association said in an announcement this week.

If the issue continues, the customer should contact Valley Communications at 775-727-5312, the association said.
