VEA district meetings to kick off Tuesday in Pahrump

Valley Electric Association, Inc. is ready to hold a series of events aimed at community involvement with the cooperative.

Throughout the next couple of weeks, VEA will hold six meetings, one in each district it operates in, at various locations throughout Nye County.

The first meeting will be held on Tuesday in District 1 (Pahrump, south of Highway 372) with the last of the six meetings being held in Sandy Valley on March 23.

The series of meetings leads up to the largest gathering VEA holds each year, the Annual Membership Meeting, where all VEA members are invited, that will be held April 23 at Pahrump Valley High School.

All district meetings will include a briefing from the district’s elected member of the VEA Board of Directors, in addition to an in-depth report from Chief Executive Officer Tom Husted, which will touch on the latest goings-on with the co-op and its member-focused efforts.

VEA members in District 2 and District 4 will also have the opportunity to elect their representative on the board of directors.

District 2 includes residents of Amargosa Valley, Crystal and Ash Meadows, and will finalize its election during the district meeting on March 22 and District 4, that includes residents of Fish Lake Valley, Lida and Gold Point, which will hold its district meeting and finalize its election on March 23.

Detailed information about the voting process has been mailed to VEA members. For additional information about the elections, please visit www.vea.coop.
