Bittersweet would be an apt term to describe Easter Sunday morning, April 21, at Simkins Park, as local residents, family and friends witnessed the unveiling of a memorial in memory of Pahrump resident Cassandra Selbach, who passed away in January.
Under bright blue and sunshiny skies, with a light breeze stirring the air, Petrack Park came alive with the sights and sounds of artistic pursuits as the Pahrump Arts Council hosted its annual Art and Sol Festival.

With more than two dozen vendors, games, fun activities and food, the 2019 Community Easter Picnic is expected to attract untold numbers of families to Petrack Park on Saturday, April 20, so says Project Coordinator Linda Wright of the NyE Communities Coalition’s Holiday Task Force.
Growing up in rural Amargosa Valley, there wasn’t much by way of community Easter celebrations for Cassandra Mills, her brother, or anyone in the small town.
