The Trojans boys cross-country team had three runners finish in the top 10 runners out of five teams to win the Mojave Weekday Meet on Tuesday.

Band is a major part of football. One can’t watch a college game without hearing the band somewhere in the background.

The Fall Festival will have a variety of sports venues to watch. There is auto racing and rodeo, but for those that are doers, the people who don’t like to watch, there’s the old-fashioned horseshoe tournament.

Gentlemen, start your engines. It’s time for the Pahrump Valley Speedway Fall Festival races, which brings you two days of racing fun, starting on Friday at 7 p.m. and then on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Chaparral was the biggest challenge to date this season for Trojans coach Joe Clayton, facing an offense that had 917 passing yards in three games. His team knew they had to put pressure on the Cowboys quarterback, and the defense didn’t let them him down.

The Trojans football team is not the only football team having success in town. The Sharks at the middle school also have been racking up the points, beating Faith Lutheran 68-20 on Saturday afternoon.

The Beatty volleyball team converted 15 aces and had a total 32 kills for the win over Indian Springs in three sets, 25-12, 25-17, 25-17.

The second annual U-turn for Christ Golf Tournament will be on Oct. 10 at 9 a.m. at Mountain Falls.

The Trojans girls volleyball team breezed by Sunrise Mountain in three sets, 25-3, 25-6, 25-4 to win their first match of league play on Monday.
