WRESTLING: Trojans finish 19th overall out of 74 at Las Vegas Holiday Classic

Friday and Saturday eight elite Trojan wrestlers participated in an annual nationwide 74-team wrestling event at the Las Vegas Convention Center, which is known as the Las Vegas Holiday Classic. Teams of all divisions across the nation, and as far as Washington D.C., participated in the event.

The Lady Trojans dropped a home game to Sierra Vista last Friday 42-33 before the holiday break. The Trojans (1-7 overall, 0-2 Sunset League) out-hustled the Mountain Lions (3-7 overall, 1-2 Sunset League) in every category but the one that counts, scoring.

The Lady Hornets destroyed Coral Academy 57-18. The Hornets (3-0 overall) Coach Aimee Senior believes her team’s offense is getting a good workout.

Dance Xpressions and VIP Cheer takes cheer to a whole new level in the valley. Before this studio opened, children interested in learning the complex tumbling elements needed to become a cheerleader had to travel to Las Vegas.

Trojans soundly defeat last year’s Division I runner-up at state

The Trojans grapplers went up against Spring Valley on Tuesday night and won 46-26. Spring Valley was the Division I runner up at state last year. The full house crowd expected a better showing from the Grizzlies but it was not to be.

Trojans grapplers take third at Spring Valley Duals

The Trojans wrestling team had their first home match against Sierra Vista last Thursday night. The Trojans mattmen didn’t disappoint the full stands and beat the Mountain Lions 54-27 in their first conference match of the season. The team then went to the Spring Valley Duals in Las Vegas and finished third at one of the toughest wrestling tournaments in the valley.

It’s that time of year again when the pounds just magically appear around the middriff section of the body because of all the good things around the kitchen to pop into your mouth. At this time of year people are madly looking for a stop-gap measure to keep the pounds from accumulating.
